President Wilson David presided over the seventh meeting of EC of KAW for the year 2005.

The EC discussed the details of Christmas/New Year program to be held during the end of December or early January 2006.

Date and Location: It is decided that this year’s Christmas and New Year celebration will be held at Renton IKEA Performing Arts Center in Renton on Saturday, January 7th at 2PM. The committee has decided that there will be no food or dinner served at the venue. Complimentary snacks will be provided for all those who attend. We will charge a gate fee of $5 per head from non-members of the association. Kids under the age of 12 are exempted.

Program Committee: Prakash Menon and Santhosh Nair have been appointed as Program Coordinators for organizing the variety entertainment show. The committee felt that in order to maximize the participation, we would encourage group programs and limit the number of individual (solo) programs. The Program Coordinators have been given the freedom to convey this to our members.

The EC discussed the matter of one of our members expressing interest in advertising through our regular mailing system. The advertiser would provide KAW with 250 stamps, envelopes and advertising matter in one side of the A4 size paper so that we can print KAW matter on the other side and send it. The members expressed that the following guidelines must be observed when using such advertisements:

-       KAW EC will determine the cost of such advertisement from time to time.
-       KAW Address list cannot be shared with advertisers.
-       Advertisers will gain no additional access to KAW resources.
-       KAW will not endorse the advertised product or service.
-       There can be no additional sheet included with the mail that contains just an advertisement.
-       No more than one side of a sheet be used for advertisement with our regular mailings.

Amendment of Bye-Law: The EC discussed the possibility of proposing some Bye-Law amendments during its Annual General Body Meeting (also held along with the Christmas/New Year program). The committee has asked the President, Vice-President, and the Secretary to look into the feasibility and come up with a draft proposal in 2 weeks.

The meeting was adjourned at 4:10 PM.
