KAW 2022 Elections


Announcement of Elections for the office bearers of KAW for the Year 2022

An Election Office comprising of Jayashree Narayanan, Jyothish Nair and Rajgopal Margessery is constituted as per Article X Section I of the bylaws of Kerala Association of Washington for the smooth, independent and autonomous conduct of the Elections of the office bearers of KAW for 2022.

The Election Office, as nominated by the Executive Committee of KAW, is pleased to invite nominations for the following positions for the year 2021. Please refer to the  Bylaws of KAW  for a description of the duties of office bearers.

Must have served KAW EC at least one year.

Must have served KAW EC at least one year.

Must have served KAW EC at least one year.

Executive Committee Members (5 Positions)

Youth Executive Committee Members (2 Positions)

Must be between the ages of 18 and 30 (inclusive) as of 3/1/2022.


Election Rules
  1. Nominee needs to be a standing member of KAW as of October 01, 2021. This is a by-law requirement for all positions.
  2. Only current KAW members as of October 01, 2021, can nominate other members for any positions.
  3. Only one nomination per candidate will be accepted (If more than one nomination is received, the candidate gets to choose which position they prefer).
  4. Only KAW members as of 10/08/2021 will be eligible to vote. This is based on the election date, 01/08/2022, and the definition of member in good standing per by-law.
  5. Each KAW member family will have one vote to cast per position.
  6. Election, if there is any, will be held online or in person based on decision in General Body Meeting on 12/19/2021.
  7. Out of the first 11 positions, 2 positions must be held by female members.

  • Dec 1, 2021 6:00 PM PST – Nominations Open.
  • Dec 12, 2021 10:00 PM PST – Nominations Close.
  • Dec 19, 2021 10:00 PM PST – Withdrawals Close.
  • Jan 2, 2022 12:00PM PST – Candidates Announced.
  • Jan 8, 2022 10:00 AM - 5:00PM PST – Election Day.
